Body looks better than ever but the scale isn't budging...grrr
I eat 2000 or more calories a day with a VSG stomach. It's completely possible. First, you have to eat more than 3 meals a day. I eat 5-6 "meals" a day and then I also fuel my workouts. Then, you have to drink some calories. I have a protein shake for breakfast and often a protein drink at night. I also fuel with a sports drink if my workout is longer than 60 minutes.
Finally, I eat a lot of nuts.

OMG how could I forget nuts! I gave them up a few months ago when I realized I could eat too many. Gonna have to add those back in.
I definitely try to eat 5-6 times a day, but I still can't eat enough protein to equal 1700 calories - unless I eat more high calorie protein...like nuts! lol
I'm back up to 2 shakes a day, plus adding the milk and peanut butter if I need it helps. Honestly, though, I can't eat much more now than I could at 3 months out, that's how much restriction I still have. I keep waiting for things to loosen up more...maybe at about a year out like I've heard people say.
Love your blog, especially the entry regarding the starvation mode myth. I've linked many a people to it.
eta: I wanted to say that I also have days where my sleeve just, like, clamps down on me and I feel STUFFED with only a couple bites of anything. I'd say about twice a month that happens. Does that still happen the further out you get? I was so distraught over it one day that I made this big long post on the VSG board and some people basically said quit whining, that's why you had surgery so I deleted the post. lol I've just been feeling some frustration over it lately and I don't feel like ANYONE can relate, so I just get quiet and deal with it myself.

The restriction definitely changes. So does my desire to eat. I think it's related to our monthly cycles. I notice I'm always really hungry in the days leading up to ovulation, for example.
Also, you are still fairly early out. Over time you can just eat more even if your restriction is the same. It's hard to explain. But it just gets easier. It's something you have to trust.
But it's also why I have a shake for breakfast. It's liquid so I can always get it down in the morning when maybe food doesn't go down too well. Another thing I do is eat my lunch and dinner in shifts. I only do this on days my sleeve is tight. I eat as much as I can, wait 20-30 minutes and then eat the rest. Of course, this is a bad thing to do if you are trying to restrict calories, but the life of an athlete seems to require it. Jus****ch it if you go through a period when you aren't as active (like if you are injured or it's your off season from body building competition or something like that).
