Hi there,I never get sick with even a cold. I am thinking about joining the bally's gym saturday. But,I will be walking in the bitter cold to and from the gym. About 12 blocks from my home. I would like to get my belly flat for the summer. If I will be getting myself sick I don't want to go. Please tell me what you think. Thanks also can I flatten my stomuch walking on a treadmill? Because I have one at home. Thanks

You don' catch a cold from being in the cold.  Colds are from viruses, etc.  Yes, your resistance can be lowered from being in the cold.  On the other hand, if your clothes are wet with sweat then you may catch a chill.  I wouldn't think you would have a prolem unless very wet.  You may want to bring a change of clothes and change out of any wet stuff before leaving.  As for flattening you tummy, you normally don't spot reduce.  Weight/fat loss is over your entire body and that comes from calorie reduction or expenditure.  Walking uses calories so will help.  You should consult with someone at the gym for ab tightening exercises, etc.

What stitch said. I would add that instead of focusing on getting a "Flat Belly" for summer, get healthy for the rest of your life by forming good habits you can maintain. Walking on a treadmill will help you burn fat, but you CANNOT force your body to burn fat in SPECIFIC areas, it just comes off where it wants to. Best of luck at the gym and kudos for making a great change!
