LOW PROTEIN = SLOWER PACE?
For the first two weeks of Sept., I was in bed. Horrible flu and Ecoli. Fevers up to 103. Could not work out for three weeks. Craved Trail Mix and discovered extra thin crust Veggie Pizza.
Before getting sick, my protein was around 120g. per day, sometimes more. I logged food daily, since pre-op. But I got off track. I haven't been journaling my food, but have consistently recorded my workkouts/runs, etc. I bet my protein as been around 40g. per day, if that on some days. WAY TOO LOW, I KNOW!
My cross training is going good, but my running pace is slower by about one minute per mile.
SO....IT DAWNED ON ME, THAT PERHAPS I NEED TO GO BACK TO PROTEIN FIRST!
I know the carbs are for energy, but can low protein make a big difference in pace?
I know you all would have the answers
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning in
It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

Yep, I was prescribed three different drugs, but the second one didn't even have a chance to pass my lips before the 3rd was prescribed.
Good points on the three weeks of not working out...and I'm well over 40 (pushing hard at 50), so that could play a part in recovery. Those illnesses kicked my @ss!
