So far - this week has SUCKED MAJOR WIND!!!
LOL - I have my first half marathon this Sunday. I did a 10mile race two weeks ago - my time was 2 hrs and 19min.
So far this week, I have had MAJOR issues just getting thru 2 and 3 mile runs! WTH???? I'm taking tomorrow as a rest day - I've been cross training and doing short runs (under 3miles) so far this week and each one has been almost 14/min/mile average - that's WAYYYY off my 12.5min time I've pulled before.
I'm going to knock out 6miles on Friday and let that 'tell the tale'. I was looking forward to this race, but now - I'm
HOWEVER - my weight training has been lovely! working a steady 200lbs on incline leg press, 100 on smith press squats and 160-180 on calf raises...... what gives!!!!
any ideas?

I don't tend to really do any running before a big race. For my Half last week, I was in bed sick for most of the week before and did a 3 mile walk/run EASY on Friday night just to see if my lungs could handle anything. Normally, I wouldn't run anything past Wednesday for a Sunday race.
Take it easy. chill. the adrenaline will be bring it all back for the big event!

I agree, I definitely wouldn't do 6 miles 2 days before the half. Take it easy, do some nice stretching, if you want to get out for a run, just do a mile or two to keep the legs fresh.

Remember: all fitness gains happen at rest. Also, it takes two weeks for the fitness gains from a particular workout to show up. So nothing you do the week of your race is going to make you faster/fitter for that race. But it can make you more tired.
