ORLANDO Half Iron Man!

So today is my 40th birthday.  I set out to accomplish a lot last year, before I turned the big 4-0.  Lots of people do.  But I did it.. lost 160 pounds.. ran a half marathon, ran a marathon.. coached my kids soccer team, involved in church, supporting my wife through college..  Still, was feeling sorry for myself today, for starting downhill.  People have told me sometimes after you finish a big goal and big race you can get down a bit.

Well.. no longer..  My birthday present to myself?  Registered for the Orlando 70.3 Iron Man in Orlando May 15, 2011!  Yep.. I'm in!

Off to change gym memberships to a gym with a lap pool.  I haven't swam more than 50 meters at one time, in my life.  Can someone tell me this is going to be impossible, so I have some motivaiton?  :)    Its on again!  Let's rock!

Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

Thanks y'all.  I am also seriously thinking of going completely nuts (and fully completing my positive mid life crisis) and registering for the Louisville Full Ironman in August.

Dan, when do the full iron man's fill up?  I know the big ones already are for 2011, but what about one like Kentucky in August?
