Okay, Tomorrow is my day. I will be doing my 5k in the morning. I am TERRIFIED! I hope to finish in under an hour. (Is that pathetic?) My times are just so slow. However, I just can't believe I am doing this. My hubbie has to work, but I did ultimately decide that this journey, weight loss in general, is mine alone. So, this race is pretty symbolic to me. either push myself to fini**** no matter how difficult or who is with me, or give up because it is difficult. I will not be giving up. I did arrange to have my M-I-L
sit mith my 2 year old at the finish line. When I cross, I would love to be reminded of why I am doing all of this!
Now wish me luck, in more ways than one! I will update tomorrow. (I have a dentist appt. today because I am thinking I have an abscess.)

How was Your week?

Chakara,

You will do great!!!!  I just finished W5D3 last night and I survived!!!!  Running at a snail's pace but I finished!!! I have run/wallk 2 5k's in the last month.  I set 45 minutes as my goal.  I went alone too!  I met up with a lady and ran with her at both.  Have fun and no matter what finish!!!  You can do this!! If you need to walk, do it!  If you need to walk, do it.  I used 1/1 intervals in my first because I did not want to exhaust my body and not finish.  Just a suggestion.  Good luck.

Dr. Curry was my surgeon as well.  Maybe we can get together someday and run a 5k together!!

You will do great. Don't even think about the time it's just not important at all. It's all about the finish. We will all be there in spirit running beside you.

You find that you have peace of mind and can enjoy yourself, get more sleep, and rest when you know that it was 100% effort that you gave --win or lose.

You and I are in the same boat!!!  I'm running my first 5k tomorrow and hoping to do it in under an hour.  I run so slow that it is impossible to run any slower.  I found out last night that I walk faster than I run.  I ran the first half of the 5k and walked the second half.  my walking time was faster.  Now that's just sad.  But, I'm going to do it and I'm going to continue to work on my 5k time and eventually I'll be running a 30 minute 5k like the average runner.  Good luck to you!!!

Re-read my blog before you go, and remind yourself about how I got the Last Place Medal. Could anything be slower than that? I think not!

Don't let anything stand in your way. Remember, DETERMINATION is the key.

Don't think further than the next couple of paces. Focus on your breathing, the breeze against your cheek, the music, the other people. Fully feel the joy and sense of accomplishment. This is an amazing feat; you've come so far, literally and figuratively, and you deserve to really celebrate it!

Feel free to PM me if you need more pep talkin! You'll be great!
