bleach smell
Hi, I've been traveling the last week or so and haven't been reporting in my workouts, but I've still been doing them -- in the desert! Much different in Arizona than in Oregon. I noticed this once at home, but twice when running here -- I smell like bleach after running.
I read a couple of articles and it sounds like this isn't so unusual. Most of them referred to not getting enough fluids. I swear I get plenty -- I even took water with me on one of the runs. Another mentioned that you are burning muscle instead of other energy...then another article said that wasn't true.
Any insights?

i'm no expert but i've heard of a strong ammonia smell in sweat before, that may be what you are experiencing. i understand that it can be caused by two factors, not enough water and the burning of amino acids which can be solved by eating more carbs so you are burning glycogen instead while doing cardio. look up ammonia smell in sweat on google, there are a bunch of articles about it.
Where are we going?? And why am I in this handbasket??
right now. somewhere. somebody is working harder than you.

Have you done a sweat test to confirm that you are getting enough fluid?

It really doesn't take much of a weight loss due to poor hydration to influence your performance either.
