Wow. All I can say is wow. I've been a member of this board for almost 2 years (my 2 year surgiversary is in 2 weeks) and i can't remember a time with more positive energy. everybody is really killing their races, i'm so happy to be associated with all the inspiration and motivation on this board.
Where are we going?? And why am I in this handbasket??

I agree! I just started participating - I've been active since WLS tho - I used to lift weights a lot, but have gotten into running in the last 4-6months, I figured I would come here to see how WLS folk handle the challenge of running - I was feeling kinda down, like my times weren't good enough
but heck - I'm alright!!!!! LOL - this forum is really going to help keep me motivated

Bill - you are so right! I've been back at school, in a new relationship and working full time while trying to make the rest of my life work, and reading how great everyone else is doing is totally helping keep my focus on my training. I'm not doing as MUCH as I did, but I'm putting more heart into what training I do, and for now, that's satisfying me plenty.
Keep up the great work everyone - whether you're an "old pro" or a newbie, your posts mean a lot when you talk about how great you feel, how excited you are and how whether you walked your first mile ever without resting or you completed a triathalon, you are aware of how far you've come!
My never-obese boyfriend is working on couch to 5K and is struggling just like I did when I started. He is working hard, but it makes me realize that it wasn't just hard for a former-fattie like myself, "regular" folks find it hard too!! I think he is awfully impressed that I have this board as a resource and support - we have something special here and it takes all of us!
Thanks all for participating, and Bill, for mentioning the topic!
