Protein absorption
So as I enter the next phase of my wls journey I'm looking to start bulking up and building muscle. My question is, does anyone know how much protein our bodies absorb roughly? I was told once 25g at a time. This makes the difference on whether or not I use 2 scoops 52g or 1 scoop 23g.
I'm AWAKE and I'm ALIVE!
I don't believe there is any concrete evidence that we malabsorb protein after about 1 year post-op. The average rule of thumb is 1 gram of protein for every 1KG of body weight. So, for every 100 pounds you weigh 62 Grams. @ 200 pounds = 124G etc... There comes a point where your body cannot effectively use a whole lot more than that, and it's no big deal, you just crap it out...

Don't listen to "Everyone". Figure out what YOU want to do. If it is to build muscle, then you need to increase. If you just want to tone and stay fit, a wellbalanced diet should do the trick. You are NOT wasting protein by doing 52G in one shot... (IMHO)
