Howdy everyone  - I've never posted here (I don't think) and I see there are a lot of runners over here.  I just started running this spring and will be doing a half marathon in 2 weeks and again in Nov.

Just a little about me - I had RNY about 5 years ago - started at 386 and today am 214, although my lowest stable weight was 185.  This increase has been in the last year and really picked up once I started weight training and running.

I've done a couple of 10K races and 5K - I have a 10mile that I will be running tomorrow morning.  So far, so good! I'm not fast - but I finish and I finish without needing medical intervention lol.  I found BSN's Volumaize earlier this week and did two test runs drinking it before hand and noticed it helped - I usually drink Powerade Zero and water during my races/runs - I haven't had any shin problems, toenail issues (saw that in a post and now I'm scared!).

So far, here are my times:
9/11 10K; 1:16
9/25 10K; 1:24
10/2 5K; 39:52

I do treadmill runs during the week, 3 to 4 times.  I did 4 miles in 50min on Thurs with no problems and no fast walk breaks, so I'm hoping I have a pretty good shot at making it through the 10miles tomorrow with no big issues.

Anyway - any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

I don't just have issues, I have subscriptions!  I'm saving on the newsstand price.......

Welcome to the forum! I'm not a runner & so I don't have any advice, other than keep doin' what you're doin'! Good luck in your upcoming half marathon, and be sure and let us know how you did.
