c25k weekly check in
I went! Still started taking walk breaks halfway through... I'm 99% sure that's all mental now. Surprisingly, it felt great out there in the cold air, but it's clear and sunny here so that helps too. Didn't sweat any less LOL.... still sitting here dripping and needing a shower while hubby monopolizes that bathroom with his morning constitutional!
We're headed up north for the weekend after we get cleaned up and ready, so I won't be around for a couple of days. Everyone have a great weekend and enjoy the run!

Hi Margaret! I'm in Michigan, and it's getting cold at night but we've had absolutely gorgeous days all weekend. So far I haven't invested in any "performance" clothing and have just been wearing tank tops (in the summer), t-shirts, and long-sleeved tees. That morning I wore a t-shirt and threw on a zip-up sweatshirt over it and didn't get too hot. I sweat a ton though, I mean I'll have a 5-inch circle of sweat at the top of my shirts when I'm done, so I think I'll ask for some running-specific stuff for Christmas and make sure I've got good stuff before Spring (probably just wear the current stuff on the treadmill over the winter). And I did have a perfect weekend, thank you!
Friday I ran week 6, day 2. Totally pleased with myself! Tomorrow is 25 minutes. Yikes! Looking forward to seeing how I do. My ultimate goal is doing my company's Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning, but since I am on schedule thus far, I am going to try one on 10/30 to see where I am at. I feel certain I'll be running 30 minutes by then, but also feel certain that I will not finish the course in 30 minutes! I think from here on out, I will do my Sunday runs along the 5k course. I'm pretty lucky - my town has multiple 5k events throughout the year and they all use the same course through downtown streets and parks. I ordered a shirt that says 'Dear God. Please let there be someone behind me to read this." Can't wait to get it in the mail! :) Have a great week, everyone! -margaret
Hi - sorry have been missing in action on this forum for a while - I've been busy exercising but not managed to focus on C25k so much.
However, on Thursday - I did a 1 hour body combat class first thing then had a latte and a yogurt to recover. Later in the day I felt energetic so went down to the gym and jogged on the treadmill for 15 mins straight - I covered just over a mile (1.6k) which I was really pleased with. I could have done more, but had a full bladder which was really uncomfortable so I stopped.
For a while I have been struggling with getting my breathing sorted out, so this time I slowed down my pace and managed to keep going for far longer than ever before - will continue to do this as I think now that I'm past the breathing I should be able to keep going for longer and will build up my speed later.
To give myself a target, I've signed up for a 1/2 marathon in Feb so am in training for this - I expect to walk/jog it - so am working on building up my walking and my jogging too. Will try and do a mix of indoor and outdoor training - though outdoors is still challenging as the humidity is high in the mornings and evenings, and the heat is very hot in the day !
Great to see everyone's progress - it just keeps me going too.
