It has been an interesting week for me. I have done my workouts. I did a flat 3.1 to see how I would do, and I am SLOW! However, finishing it is no problem. Unfortunately, my husband found out he has a mandatory meeting on the Saturday of our first 5k. I am still waivering as to what to do. My hubbie has trained with me and really wants to do it with me. I can't find another race that will work  until Nov. 20, but I am looking. This has really been a mental hurdle for me this week. (I wrote about this on my profile blog)
Other than that, things are moving along!!

How was your week?

WOOO-HOOOO, you finished the whole thing!!  Awesome.  I'm so slow too... I don't feel slow while I'm running, but my times say otherwise lol.  Are you far enough south in Ohio that it won't be totally freezing at the end of November?  That's something to take into consideration too.  I've found over the last couple of weeks that I don't do as well when it's colder.

I posted in last week's thread that I did 30 minutes on the treadmill Sunday, then ran outside again on Monday.  That was the first time I've done two days in a row and it made a difference, not in a good way.  Shortly after the halfway point I just felt like I couldn't force myself to run any longer, and from then on I had to take about a 90-second walk break every couple of minutes.  I expected to be back to normal on Wednesday, but the same thing happened.  Don't know if I can blame it on the mental (not having an upcoming race looming), the cooler weather (although Wednesday was perfect, if windy), or being a little dehydrated, or what.

I always feel absolutely GREAT immediately after running.... but when do we start enjoying the running itself??

I think I tend to feel that way @ exercising in general.
As far as the weather, it is hard to say. In Ohio we say if you don't like the weather stick around a few days and it will change. i live in the dayton area. It could be 50 @ Thanksgiving or it could be snowing by halloween. Hard to say! Have a good one!

Good day to you guys!  I hope everyone is doing great.  I had a issue late last week with completing week 5 so I repeated w5d2 and w5d3.  I've gotten past those issues and completed w6d1 yesterday.  Today is a off day so I don't know what type of activity I'm going to do today.  I  absolutely love this thread and the exercise forum.  All of you are so inspiring and its nice to see everyone progress.  I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and god bless.  coco135

I slacked off a bit this week after the race on Saturday.  I will get back to it though.  My next race is in the middle of november, so I can't afford to loose my monmentum!

Everybody have a great week!

I am stick in seven week land....I am having such a hard time managing 25 minutes....I don't know why, I'm at a total mental block, I run on the treadmill (it is super hilly where I live, so outside is tough),  I need suggestions on how to push past it....

I remember being this way with the 5 minute run....and I finally did it...but I've been at these darned 25 minutes for 3 weeks....

I end up doing 15 minutes, poop out...and then I just do sprints for 15 minutes, hoping sprints will help my endurance....

tips, words of wisdom, something....grrrr......

I am on week 5.  I am completing my second 5k tomorrow.  My first was 41:33.  I am going to try to finish under 40.  Glad everyone is sticking with the program.  I have moved to the treadmill.  It is much easier on my body.  I have fibro and the weather this past week has effected my training.

Hello Everybody...I completed week 4 on yesterday and I feel great. Motivation was a battle on yesterday and I had to give myself a good talking to in order to get moving. It worked. I've learned that I need a little more water intake before training. Congrats to all on having good, positive results this week. I feel confident moving on to week 5.

It's 8:13 am, I've been up since 7:00... on a freakin' SATURDAY, after working two back to back 13-hour days...BOOOO!!!   It's 45 degrees outside, I've had a cup of coffee and a bowl of oat bran (totally carby, I know, but it's an experiment to see if it helps me not poop out halfway through this time).

45 degrees.  YEEK.  I reeeeeeeally need a shove out the door.
