Hey all! I am starting th C25K this sunday. I am a little stunned that it is really as easy as it looks on paper. Really 5 min walk, 5 min jog and 5 min walk on day 1 and that is it? REALLY

Or am I wrong?

I am 27 years old, 5' and 3/4" tall. HW: 263 SW: 226 LW: 142 CW: 198

The program for week one:

Brisk five-minute warmup walk.

Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes.
(This requires 8 intervals of jog/walk).

I suppose if you really want to add it up, the intervals total 8 minutes of jogging and 12 minutes of walking (not including the five minute warmup walk).

By my understanding, the "for a total of 20 minutes" does NOT include the 5 minute warm up walk or your cool down.

Here's the schedule, week by week (you'll find it halfway down the page).

Don't look too far ahead, and don't let the longer runs at the end of each week scare you... it really does work you up to it!  Have fun with it and good luck!

The theory is that most people try to do too much and end up quitting. That's why its slow and steady.
