Best Heart Rate Watches

Hey all, I am new to the exercising world and well I hate it so far but I know it is a slow process.

I am interested in getting one of the watches that can monitor your heart rate and I would like one that can also count calories burned. If this even exists (I think there is a guy one of my classes that has one of these nifty devices!)

Thanks for your imput!

Get one with a chest strap so it's monitoring your HR continually. They should all calculate calories though some do a better job of it than others. You want one that uses the HR, your age, your weight and some measure of fitness even if it's just a guess (like inputting your VO2Max or picking a fitness level off a chart).

Thanks, I would really like one for my wrist though. Because of how I am built it is really uncomfortable to wear a chest monitor.

They are suppose to go under the girls, if that helps.

The ones you put your thumb on to record your pulse once in a while aren't very accurate. You might as well save your money and use the online databases that estimate calories instead.
