My feet  and knees are always hurting and aching after a workout.  The pain is crazy as it often wakes me up in the middle of the night. I'm thinking that I need new shoes. Any suggestions?  I do the elliptical 6 days a week and sometimes I get on the treadmill.

I just ordered these from Amazon:  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00386E4GE/ref=oss_product

They are running shoes.  They are $99 but I have read that good shoes will prevent injuries and therefore save on medical bills.

I had really bad knee pain and started physical therapy.  I had orthodics made for my shoes and all that together worked miracles for me.  Now I can run and don't have any knee pain at all.  Good luck to you.

Don't know if you live anywhere near a New Balance store, but when I was having problems I went in there and they spent a long time with me helping me find the perfect shoe for me. They were expensive, but 6 months later they are still feeling wonderful. Good luck!

I went to a running store and they fitted me with a great pair of shoes, they watched me run and took into account the issues I was having with my feet...I have been great ever since!!

I went and got my feet fitted and ended up with some New Balance shoes...http://www.newbalance.com/products/WR1123/

I love them!!!!

Just because they fit you and tell you which ones are best for your feet, doesn't mean you have to buy them there...I got my fit and then searched online.  Found them at zappos.com for $30 less.

definitely want to experiment.   a lot of people swear by the spenco inserts.

My own feet have changed as I lost weight and ran more.  I have super wide feet so its harder for me to walk in a shoe shop and try lots of different shoes.  I started out in New Balance, went to Asics and now I loooove my Nike Voomero's - you know how good it feels to take your shoes off after a long run?  I actually put my feet back in my Nike's.  :)  But everyone will be different for sure.
