I need some advice.  I have my first 5k in a week and I could use some advice on what to do this next few days.  I feel like I am behind  because I was not able to run T, W, Th, Fr due to some abd pain.  (I called the doc and we figured it out, no worries.)

Should I run Monday and Wed., rest Thurs, Fri for Saturday, or try to get more runs in?  My run this morning was hard for me I think because of missing so many days.

Amy,

I would stick to your plan and not try to make up for last week.  You've been following the C25K plan, so you've built your base for your 5K.   I think you'll feel more like yourself Monday and Wednesday and you'll regain your confidence.  Have a great race!  The first one is always special regardless of finish time.

Good luck,

Cassie

Amy,

Just take it easy this week leading up to your race. Just a couple VERY easy jogs should do the trick. A training run in the next couple days will have NO bearing on how you run next weekend...

Something to keep in mind: it takes 2 weeks to see fitness gains. There is nothing you can do this week to increase your fitness for this race. Therefore, your workouts should be about maintaining the fitness you've got without injuring yourself.
