I am new to exercise and have set some goals for myself prior to surgery.  I am just 6 days post op but I am a huge planner. LOL  I really, really would like to be able to run a 5k by next spring.  What do I need to down load this program to?  Thanks and I am so impressed with all of your commitment. to exercise.  This is my goal as well.

I ran for the first time tonight! I read some on the website coolrunnings.com and I downloaded a podcast for my mp3 player that tells me when to walk and when to run. Just google C25K music for some sites. The one's I found are free. I can't wait to see how well I do a month from now. I barely got through the 1st run tonight... but it felt great after! Good luck Lilly!!

Do a search online....here are some websites where you can download "podcasts" a group of songs that are selected and already preset for you.

http://www.kissmyblackass.org/?page_id=86 - this one is actually my favorite so far, but I mix them up.  Depends on your taste in music.  The first 3 weeks were hardcore hip hop, so you have to be able to enjoy or at least stand that music....from then, it is pretty friendly music.

http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-chubby-jones-podcast/ id286596177 - ok music, random artists, no name brands, but decent music.  She has a decent sense of humor...and keeps you going.

if you have ITUNES then do a search for C25k in the itunes store and you will see a bunch of podcasts, some free, some for $$ (all the ones above are free).  YOu can get loads of info at www.c25k.com

Good luck....

Bear in mind though, you don't HAVE to use any podcast... just use a watch if you want to.  The program wasn't designed around or for any podcast, but the other way around!  I've always just used the stopwatch feature on my watch and the regular stuff on my iPod, if I want music.  So you can start right now, if you want to!
