Well, first of all, it's not exercise. It's playing. Now say to yourself: I hate to play! Sounds dumb, right? I mean who hates to play?

The problem, IMO, is that we, as a society, have turned playing into yet another chore. Now it's not playing, it's working out. So suddenly play is work. How backwards is that?

Throw in the Fat Brain that tells that *any* deprivation or suffering is bad for us and you have a recipe for a sedentary lifestyle.

Once you think of exercise as play, though, it opens up a whole world of activities. It's no longer about going to the gym and slaving away on a machine or something traditional (but hard-core) like running. It can be joining a sports league (volleyball, racquetball, tennis, softball, Frisbee, basketball ping pong) or taking a dance class, swimming, golf, bowling (but avoid the beer and chips), learning martial arts, cheerleading (yes, there are adult cheerleading teams), skateboarding, roller-blading, skiing/snowboarding, ice skating, biking (if your tailbone is broken, you can have it removed), horseback riding, kite flying, badminton, really, the list is endless!

Heck at a picnic this Sat I went in the Bounce House 2x and boy was that a workout! I was sweating and everything. But it was fun. It certainly didn't feel like "work".
