How to Re-Start?
Hi everyone,
I had PS on 9/9/10 and my recovery is going well. Mr Dr. said he would clear me for "light exercise" on 9/24 and free for "regular exercise" on 10/22 if everything goes well.
I was wondering how any of you dealt with this down time (what you did for workouts between being cleared for "light exercise"and "regular exercise") and how you started back on the path to regular workouts? How long did it take for you to get back to where you were before? How did you do it?
Before the surgery I was running 6 1/3 miles a day (5.5 mph pace) in addition to 4 miles of walking per day (3.5 mph pace). I would like to get back to that level ASAP, but I don't want to hurt myself by doing too much too soon.
Any and all help you guys could give would be greatly appreciated!

My 2 cent. You don't want to pull or tear any of the scars, so I would think things like walking and very light weights for toneing would be the best. It almost seems like the same requirements as WLS...Watch for infections and get lots of sleep and rest for the healing process to take place. Once you've been cleared...start slowly...see how you feel, then go from there. Brian
