The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!
I don't have the felt, it was a test bike I rode.
I really liked it a lot.
I am still in the collecting pennies stage.
I have ridden the Felt, the Cervelo RS, R3, S2, and the P3 triathlon bike.
The P3 was wickedly fast, but also very twitchy. I was easily 2 mph faster on the tri bike without any effor at all. It actually felt easier to ride, less effort, but I was cruising like I said 2mph faster.
I am leaning towards the S2, because I want a bike that I can ride on group rides and for Triathlons. Since I can't affort to own a specific tri bike and a specific road bike right now, the S2 gives me the best of both. It's an aero road bike, and you they have different seat posts that you can use to adjust the seat angle to a more triathlon specific angle.
My local Tri store carries both the Felt and the Cervelo. The nice thing about the Felt is that you can get the bike with some aero wheels for about the same cost as a comperable Cervelo that has stock wheels. I guess it's one of those do you like porsche or do you like corvette kind of arguments. You aren't going to get a dog with either one, it's just what you like.

I'm saving those pennies myself to buy a Felt S22 in February (hopefully). I have a Trek 1.1C with clipless pedals and clip-on aerobars right now. I would love to get something better than the entry level Felt S22, but the $1450 price tag, well, thats a lot of money to us (we're an Army family).
I could probably get a few bucks off if I traded in my Trek, but I want to keep it for group rides and as a "back up bike".

I hear that. The bike I want is 7k
The bike I'm settling for is 4k
But it was the deal my wife made. I get the counter tops done and not complain about it. Then I get my bike. Pick the bike you want, because you aren't getting another one until this one falls to pieces.
It kind of chokes me too, when I think about spending that much money. But I calm myself a little. It could be a midlife crisis Ferrari or something like that.
That and cycling is the one exercise that I really enjoy doing. I don't mind going for a 5-6 hour bike ride, I find it enjoyable. I wish I could say the same thing about endurance running. It would be a lot cheaper.

My bike guy is closing shop and getting rid of his rental bikes. You might want to check it out as he has some sweet deals going...

Ahhhh, the deals with the spouses
The deal I have with my husband, the gun nut, is when I get my tri bike, I have to let him get a .44 magnum revolver and a .45 1911. He's been awesome about it though, he's excited for me getting a tri bike, even though the guys he works with tell him he's a f**king idiot for letting his wife get such an expenisve bike (even though $1450 is cheap for a tri bike), even though these are the same guys who will go out and buy a $14000 1200 crotch rocket when they don't even know how to ride a motorcycle. He never listens to the "guys at work" fortunatly, he's my biggest supporter.
I do enjoy cycling, but I'm not up to the 5-6 hour rides let, right now my max is 2 and a half hours and at that point I feel like I am going to fall over, but I have only been riding since July so its a start. I love running though, I was a runner first and its something I enjoy doing again now that I have lost weight.
I have my first tri on Sunday, so I will see if all this training has payed off.
