Cross country.. Skating?
So I was on a business trip in Calgary and had some time to hang out in Banff (highly recommend it for those who have never been!).. anyway, driving one of the back roads I see this lady cross country skiing - on wheels. And she was cooking. I've always heard cross country skiing was like the best workout ever, but I had never seen the roller skate version. Anyone here ever do it? I'm afraid I'd crack my hip before I ever figured it out, but it sure looks like a great workout. I was thinking of looking on craigs list this winter for a cross country ski setup.. now I might just look for a summer version (I don't even know what its called to google it)
Never tried it...I did cross country once in college. I was soar for days! I YouTubed it. This one came up.

Hey Andrew,
What you likely saw was an athelete training in the summer for a winter sports. They use those all the time to keep training when there is a lack of snow. I haven't seen too many people use them otherwise. I used to cross country ski and it is a great workout for sure.
Banff is beautiful I agree. I work for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, so I am fortunate and blessed to be able to stay at the Fairmont Banff Springs when I am there; so beautiful. The scenery just takes your breath away.
Anyway, good luck in your ski set-up!

That Chateau Lake Louise is pretty amazing hotel and spot - I think it must be the most beautiful spot on earth. I stayed there about 10 years ago and it was magnificent. This time I just walked around the lake and we drove around some of the backroads, and of course dinner in Banff (what a great little town). I just love Alberta in general.
