Hey y'all! How are we doing????

Well I did get in a 2  2 mile walks before everything went crazy this week. Everyone in the house is sick. I think it needs to be tented and fumigated! lol First, my 2 year old, then my hubbie (bigger whiner than my 2 year old), and now myself. I am waiting for the test results. Looks like cmv (mono). Of course, the pediatrician didn't catch it. My doctor did. Oh well. I hope I feel better soon, today i feel just awful!

Hope you are having a better week than me. How are things "running?"

I am still flying on my week 5 day 3 high!  I did it!  I did it!

I was able to run the 20 minutes and I did it!

Now I know I can do anything....or at least feels that way to me....

Next week I move on to week 6.....today Spin and weights....life is fun....

Today marks 8 weeks post op, 35 lbs gone, I am totally on a high this weekend...hopefully I don't blow it and "celebrate" too much......(I discovered last weekend I really liked a little vodka/crystal light.......not a huge drinker, but weekends with a little drink seem to be easier.....)

Chakara,

I hope everyone in your house feels better soon....take care....

Hi all!

@ Chakara-  I'm so sorry everyone is sick!  Mono is an evil illness...remember that it will take time to get back to normal

As for me, this week has been pretty good!  I have done 2-28 minute runs and have another one tomorrow.  Next week is the last week for me!  I can't believe that I am almost done with the 9 weeks!

3 weeks until the race!

Keep up the good work everybody!

Hi everyone.  Chakara hope you and family get to feeling better real soon.  I'm doing 2w2d tomorrow.  I was wondering if it matters if you do your run on the treadmill.  I've been doing this and I want to make sure its ok.  coco135

I'm on a treadmill....it gives me a better sense of control, I live in a pretty hilly area.....running outdoors on different surfaces is a totally different feeling.

I'm going to finish the 9 weeks on the treadmill and gradually introduce outdoors.....

Chakara, I really hope it's not mono and you all feel better soon, I know how much you want to get through C25K!

I have W7D3 tomorrow, so another 25-minute run.  The first on Monday was great, the second on Wednesday was not as great but still not bad, and I"m  hoping for a good one tomorrow after two days off.

Ever have a big eating day?  Where you just feel like you need to eat all the time!  I had that yesterday.  Thankfully, everything I ate was healthy.

THEN, there was today, where I still felt like I needed to eat every hour or two, but also where three separate patients brought in chocolate chip cookies.   Uh-ohhhhhhhhhh.....I made the mistake of getting into them shortly before lunch and that's all she wrote lol.  Every time I go through the back room I'm breaking off a piece of cookie and sticking it in my mouth.  Hopefully it just fuels tomorrow's run and doesn't show up on the scale Monday morning!

 Way to go, Margaret!

I keep meaning to post a couple of links here and finally just remembered.  For anyone on Facebook, there are good pages for CoolRunning and C25K.  Both send out two or three really good, helpful, short 2-3 page articles each day full of tips and ideas, and great info that help keep me focused and interested, and trying new things during the runs.  Here are links to the pages, if anyone's interested:

OMG.... TWO MILES!!   I can't believe it... Day one this week (Week 7 with the 25-minute runs) I covered 1.8 miles.  We've taken a different route the second two days which I knew was a little longer, but drove it just now after we finished, and made exactly 2.0 miles in the 25 minutes... I can't believe it!!  Today felt much smoother and lighter than Wednesday did....God, I love this.
