OMG!  I never thought I could have run for 20 minutes...I was starting to freak myself out...but I went in today...and totally killed it!  I am sore but have a huge sense of accomplishment....

On to week 6......I just had to share....

I am on a stupid high....I never thought excersize would do this to me...but it does!

Yay!

That's great. I remember how scared I was of the 20 min. and how excited to see I could do it. I think that's the best week of Couch-to-5k!

Most Excellent!  I think that run is thrown in there to show us that we can keep going, even when we don't think we can.  Kind of a "leap of faith."  I was so very proud of myself when I finished that run...you should be too!

Remember that feeling in the weeks to come...as the runs get longer.  You can do it!  If you can do 20, you can do 25...28...30.....

I agree!  I was scared of that 20-minute run too, and seriously doubted that I'd be able to fini****  After I did, then I really started to believe that from then on, anything was possible!  My first 25-minute run was better than the 20-minute one (although the 2nd one wasn't as good as the first), and I'm looking forward to completing and enjoying the 28- and 30-minute ones, and beyond (gonna have to go beyond, 'cause right now I'm looking at about a 39-minute 5K).

I soooooo love this program.

That's awesome!  I just finished week 2 and have been looking at week 5 saying to myself, 'what the heck?'.  Glad to see so many of you got through day 3.  Three more weeks for me; hopefully I'll be reporting back with good news, too!  Wow, now I'm motivated to get to that point.  Thanks!  -margaret

Here's something that's really helping me through those longer runs:  I figure one song on the iPod is 3-4 minutes, so for the 20 minute run, I wouldn't let myself check my watch until after 5 songs played.  If I run without the iPod, I get as close to where I THINK my minute goal is without going over before I check.  Usually I'm within 3-4 minutes, but even with that little time left, now that I know I still have that much left, those last few minutes after I've checked seem to take forever... so if you somehow can put off checking the time for as long as you can, it really helps!
