Excellent week!
This has been an excellent week. Up every morning at 4:30am, out running with my buddy by 4:45am. Every day this week! We averaged between 4.5 and 7 miles. It was so dark in some places that I needed to follow my partners shoes to stay on the path. She is 15 years younger than me, and has much better vision. All I could think about when we were on some of the trails, was the scene from the Wizard of Oz, "Lions, and Tigers, and Bears, oh my!" except it was more likely to be "spiders, tree limbs, and dog poop, oh yucch!". Going to go out this weekend to find a running light to use that I can keep these morning runs going. Not much traffic, but people out at that time of the morning are really in a hurry. I have really become great at hydrating on the run. I now get my water in without walking and barely shortening my pace. I think I'm too embarrased to let someone know that I need to take a break, so I just keep going.
Tomorrow is a solo run since everyone is off at the beach. I hope to make it a fast one, and then do a long birthday run on Sunday. In lieu of cash, I'm counting on all of you to gift me your best day of running, cycling, or just plain old exercise for my birthday.
Thanks for taking the time to read my ramble.

Those early morning runs are golden, especially when you have someone waiting for you to make sure you don't hit the snooze button! Have a great birthday.
