Stupid shin splint
So, now I have a shin splint. I read up on it and I'm positive that is what the pain is on the inside of my lower leg. So, I went running the other night and after 2.5 miles had to stop because it was really hurting. What now? I'm resting it, but it still hurts a bit. If I get one of those wraps, can I run with it on without pain? I hate this kind of crap.
Ice, Compression, and rest. Be sure to run on EVEN surfaces and avoid hills until it heals...

I agree, ice & compression are the two best things you can do for it.
In the meantime, if you still want to keep your cardio up you could always try a no-impact exercise like a spinning bike or an elliptical machine. This is what I did when I started developing knee pain last summer and it worked great to keep my endurance up.
Don't worry you'll be over it in no time!
