About how long dose it take to really start feeling better after wls? Dose the initial surgery pain stay with you long?

About 4 days of pain...needing meds.  Then about 6-10 days of discomfort (meds optional).  I think I went several days taking Tylenol (by itself) instead of Tylenol with codeine, because the codeine can cause constipation and bad dreams.  Just me.

I took pain pills for 10 days, then was fine, but wasn't able to workout til about 3 months.

I did really well after the surgery even though I typically don't do that well (anesthesia does not agree with me.) However, in a week I felt better. In two weeks I felt good. I started exercising exactly one week after surgery and I think that contributed to my overall good health. Check with your dr. first, though to see when he recommends exercise and the limitations he may have. I just walked for a few weeks, then added the elliptical. I could only do 2 minutes on that darn machine before I thought I'd have a heart attack! I'm up to 30 minutes in addition to my other cardio and strength training. It was a gradual process over a year to exercise.
