I feel like such a wuss because I haven't been running outside much...but today it paid off because one of the trainers at the gym told me I was looking fantastic since the last time she'd seen me and that my hard work was paying off...made the wussy feeling subside

I had such a crappy run today.  Woke up at 5am with the plan to do a 20 miler.  I woke up feeling so tired and my calves were sore from previous week's activities.  Fell asleep on the chair getting ready to go..  Ended up getting a few miles out, barely able to keep a 10.5 min/mi pace, I knew I was in trouble.  The calves were screaming.  Decided I needed to pull it short, and glad I did, ended up doing 7 in total, but the last couple I walked a lot.  The calves have been screaming all day, can barely walk, and I am utterly exhausted.  Maybe a little dehydration.  Never have I felt so lousy after a run.. hoping I can take a couple days off and get this 20 miler in Friday.. starting to have doubts about my marathon...

you'll be fine, and great job listening to your body, many would have pushed through (i've done it a bunch of times) and created longer lasting issues than one crappy day.  rest and go at it when you are ready.  make sure you are hydrated and have enough electrolytes including potassium which may explain the cramping.  good luck, you have this!

Hang in there Andrew and don't lose faith in the miles you've already put in.  You were wise to listen to your body and cut the run short.   For various reasons, I finished 3 of 5 marathons without the 20-milers.  The 18s, combined with all of the weeks of training before them, were sufficient on race day.   Good luck.

29-mile bike
2600 yard swim

I can't wait to get rid of this cold.  I've been putting in the time, but not the intensity that I would like for this final build week before I taper for the Syracuse 70.3.

Spin class in the AM -- but at my for-pay gym, not the class at work. The class at work is wimpy; the gym class thrashed me; 75 min

Water running in the PM - 75 min.
