Okay, so I ran outdoors for the first time yesterday. (then I proceeded to come home and take up carpet from my bedroom) I am so sore that I can barely stand up or walk. I took my son to tumbling this morning, but I am thinking I am too sore to go grocery shopping. (Legs, hips, obliques, low back and arms)

I wanted to know, do I rest it or try to do zumba tomorrow and work it out? thanks in advance

If it HURTS (wanna cry) - rest and stretch
If it just feels like you had a good workout (sore) then go after it again.
That's my rule.

Maybe soak up in a warm Epsom salt bath, and take some Tylenol.  I had a friend who was a competitive gymnast and she swore taking alka seltzer helped with the acid build up (the stuff that causes pain).

If it is still super sore, can't walk or move, then rest up tomorrow, if not, work it out slowly.....

Just remember it usually is worse on the second day......

Hey There!

Isn't running outside harder than inside?  I think so!

I say Pain=rest....sore=good job work it out!  (get the lactic acid out of those muscles!)

I completely agree about the Epsom salt soak. You can take a ho****er bath with 1 cup of salt and soak for 20 minutes right after your workout to prevent soreness the next day, too. I like a little soreness from my workouts and tend to push through it the next day, but if daily function is limited, sounds like a rest day is needed. Zumba will be there the next day
