Military Challenge. Virginia Beach, VA
Hi everyone--
Haven't been by here in a while. Been busy living life and amping up for the next month. I have two half-marathons and a triathlon coming up in September and then am gearing up for my 3rd full marathon (Nags Head, NC) in November.
I had some fun a couple of weeks back and ran a new race locally called the Military Challenge. Having the world's largest naval base in our backyard, it made sense.
The race itself was a 3.5 mile course through streams, mud pits, and through a slalom course. There were also multiple walls and barriers to climb, a cargo net, and a final slip-and-slide near the end. It was a fun and fantastic run.
I finished in 31:07, meaning I was 132nd out of 568 finishers. I was 107th out of 331 males and 16th out of 40 in my age group. I am proud to say that there were a couple of active duty guys who I blew past in the last half mile.
This is a pic of me waiting for the hoses afterward.
