Calories burned question
I like the Garmin 305 and 310
Polar also makes one, and Timex Ironman brand just came out with a new one.
These are all GPS enabled watches with heart rate and can do cycling as well including cadence. They provide a ton of information. If you are serious they are the way to go.
I know you can get some that are just heart rate monitors, but I'm not familiar with them.
They are not cheap, but you can get the 305 for less than the 310, basically the same watch but the 310 is waterproof and it's the newer of the two.

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!
I like my polar, it doens't uplad to the computer, but I've had it for a few years now, I don't remember the Polar #, but it does calories, weekly totals, HR averages, it works for me. I think I paid around $100 about 3 years ago. I use it for biking, swimming and cardio. I also use it while doing resistance training....I monitor my heart rate while doing resistance, to make sure it's up at least above 130....
it's fun to watch and track.....
