C25K Newbie needs off day advice
Hi there,
I just began week 2 and I have to walk out 2 of my jog periods. I walk 3mph and jog 4mph on a treadmill. It's been either +90degrees or raining on my workout days and no indoor track at my gym. I know I'm a slow pace but I'm moving forward. My goal is my first 5k, ever, in October.
What do you do on your off days? I've been doing spinning, zumba, sometimes elliptical or body pump. It's suppose to be do C25K 3x/per week, right?

Well you should have a rest day.
I would recommend a full day of rest before you start the next week.
On my off days I would try to do something that didn't involve my legs or that involved different muscles. Bike riding, swimming something like that.
You could also take that time to do strength/resistance training.

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!
Thanks for your reply.
I have 2 definite rest days per week, Wednesdays & Sundays. There is usually another one (often Friday and/or Saturday).
I sustained a self inflicted hip injury that set me back significantly for almost 2 months. I don't want to make that mistake again, but I do want to make it to my goal of completing a 5k in October.
I know I'm slower than most people walking and moving in general. I'm not going to attemp to over do it by trying to finish in the top 10 or whatever, but I also don't want to be the last one to complete. It's discouraging when I have to walk during a run period and I'm only in my 2nd week.

I just started yesterday, but I don't usually do rest days at all. I do the C25K plan M,W,F, and T,Th,Sa,Su I do other exercises like cycling, swimming, ellyptical, stairs, and weight training. I don't work out on days that I work because my job requires 7-9 hours of walking, running, and stair-climbing.
