Could someone creat me a detailed plan...

Hello,

Could someone create me a detailed calorie and protien plan for after surgery so that I can stick to my current workout plan?

I currently swim 1 hour 4 times a week.  I also do 3 one hour strength training workouts a week.  I want to know what I should eat and drink, how much and when I should eat or drink it, in order to get the most out of my workouts, not lose muscle mass and to make sure that I am getting everything I need to be as healthy as possible!!!!

Thank you!

Maybe a NUT could help?

 Nutritionist.

Basicly, right after surgery, you just need to follow your surgeons eating plan, and work out as you can, slowly adding in more as you can handle it and your surgeon allows it.

You really don't need to do anything "special" just because you are working out. We have people here following their surgeons eating plans, and training for Marathons on 800-1000 calories. Its not a big deal, your body will adjust. You just need to make sure your getting in your fluids and protein, which right out of surgery, will be a struggle, meaning you wont have the energy to work out for 3 hours a day, but it will get better as you heal and get fit more in.

One step at a time grasshopper. lol All things will come in time, but right after surgery your goals are to rest, heal, sip, sip, sip, work on getting in protein, and walking as much as you can. Before you know it you'll be back doing what you love.

There is no one here training for a marathon on 800-1000 cals... Your body needs carbs if you are going to do endurance sports, but I would DEF seek your surgeon's counsel above ours at this time...

Humm...I could have sworn in a post a week or so ago about calories MacMadame posted she had trained for her first marathon or triathlon on around 800 calories a day. I could be mistaken though. Sorry Dan.

Either way my point was that we have some people here doing amazing things and with the supervision of their surgeon they are probably eating less than the general public does and still doing great. But having your surgeon and nut involved, especially shortly after surgery is a must.

It was a Sprint Triathlon.

By the time I started training for the HIM distance, I was up to about 1200 calories a day though.

I'm looking for tips on how to get more calories on the days that I workout, not a regular daily eating plan.  I'm also looking for specific foods that are still high in protien but also have more calories so that I have more to burn during my workouts.  I am seeing my NUT this Tuesday so I'll ask her what she thinks.
