I went out for a 3.1 mile run this morning and walked the last mile due to GI distress.  I am sure that it had nothing to do with the extra cheese pizza and ice cream that I had last night.  ;)

What did you do on this lovely Saturday?

I am doing my first half marathon on October 2nd, so today I wanted to see if I had the physical ability to run 13.1 miles. I did it, I only stopped for pee breaks and to refill my handheld water bottle and take a salt tab, I kept the clock running during these short breaks so I could have a realistic idea of what my half marathon time would be, so I ran 13.12 miles in 2:16. I' m still analyzing the garmin data from my run because I'm a nerd like that.

REST DAY!

3 hours, 45 minutes on the Time Trial bike yesterday. 373 miles logged for the week. Love those 2-a-day rides! Legs are thrashed. Time to protein up and get to the honey-do-list!

Happy Sat all!

Hey, awesome job Jillian!

I went for a 6.1 mile run with my Saturday group. It went really well. I am thinking I might actually be ready for my half the end of September!

I did a 5K Hill Workout today. Hills approximately 20% grades. Not too bad of a pace! Best part... running up all the hills and not
Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.

It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

Kathy: 20% grades is not what I would call hill workout outs. I would call it more like "hell!" LOL. Awesome job, that is some sick climbing.

4 Hour Ride, followed by 30 Minute "Brick"... Goal was to just spin all day and not get into the big ring... Mission accomplished and avg right at 17.5mph. The next step will be overgear work next week on my long ride. Heavy gear and low cadence... The week after, merging the 2 together (Hopefully puts me around 21mph) and then taper for my 70.3 in a few weeks....

15mph winds all day and 108 on the heat index.... Glad to still be alive!

race day, peachtree city sprint tri.  this was my first tri last year so it is a special event for me.  i definitley improved year over year (1:22 to 1:15 and 30/84 to 5/69 in the clydes division).  run was rough, had to slow down in miles 2 and 3 but swim and bike were good (bike average was 23.6 MPH for 14 miles on a mostly flat course, major rollers for the first and last 2 miles, but no real climbs).  i'll try to post a race report tomorrow when i have some more time.
