couch to 5k check in week 4
Did week 4 day 2 yesterday.....I ended up skipping week 3 by mistake so I just ran with it.....
When I did day 1, I didn't understand why I wasn't able to get the runs/jogging part done....until I figured out I hit play on the wrong week's podcast.....
So I still can't run for the entire 5 minutes, but can get in about 3 minutes, take a 30 second breather and continue....so I think I'm going to repeat week 4 next week.....
My muscles are sore....and hey! I can run for 3 minutes! who would've thunk!

Congrats on moving along. If you have to step it down to week 3 one day for a break or repeat w4d1 a couple of days, you will get there. Listen to your body. I am getting pretty sore in the ankles and shins. I have to rest it when it hurts, I do a speed walk with a very light jog. I am covering more distance with this than I did jogging before. Keep pushing and you will get there soon enough.
Well...I've struggled to get in every day the past two weeks, so I had to repeat week two over two weeks. Still struggle to run the entire time by the time I get to the fifth run in the cycle. (IE the fifth interval in the 20 min. period) I am planning on running today for my last day on week two and will then begin week three. Now that work is underway, hopefully I can find a consistent schedule.
I am finding that the running part is much easier in terms of breathing, but my legs get so fatigued, that is why I struggle to complete all the runs. I guess I just need to do my best and keep pressing on.
I'm very encouraged to hear about all of your successes. Keep it up!

Be encouraged. I often think of where I was just a short time ago and remember that as much as I thought it would be great to complete a 5k, I never actually thought that I could do it. I have come pretty far in just a couple weeks. That keeps me motivated to push onward. Think about what you have already accomplished and focus on the finish. :0) chakara
