Hip Injury, only two weeks until my race

So, after months of rehabbing my right hip/groin and gradually getting back to running, I have now somehow injured my left hip and I only have 2 weeks until my 1/2 marathon at Disneyland.  I have completely backed off the running and am only swimming as that doesn't bother the hip.  I have crazy pain on the outside of my hip right at the hip bone and it is sore all of the time and hurts when walking or attempting to run.  I have tried icing, stretching, using my roller stick thingy, going to the chiropracter.  All to no relief.  I am going to try to get a massage this weekend and see if that helps.  Anybody have any other suggestions or maybe some specific things I can do w/ my roller thing or specific stretches?

Anybody deal w/ this kind of hip pain before, I'm thinking maybe bursitis or IT band.  I'm even at the point where I'm considering going to the doctor but I'm sure they are going to tell me just to rest it.

Thoughts anybody???

That bites girl :(

I would recommend trying active release; it`s a combination of massage/chiropractic technique. Hope you feel better real soon.

Sorry to hear that you're having problems so close to your race.  Because the pain is constant, I would make an appointment with the doctor.  Better to get an accurate diagnosis than risk more serious injury.

Crazy pain ALL of the time does not sound like IT Band or Bursitis... If it is only aggrevated when walking or running then I would think so. ART as mentioned above (Active Release) from a Chiro that specialize it will give you INSTANT improvement.
