Ran in my first ever 5k this morning! Crossed the finish line at 39 mins, but I think my official time is like 38 - should find out online soon. Go me ;-)

Brick workout. Biked the 56-mile HIM course, then ran 4 miles. With 5 weeks of training to go, I'm finally at the point where I'm sure I can finish this thing with a smile on my face.
The headwind was a killer particularly on the 10-mile climb; but I was able to make up some time on the second half for an overall average of 15.3 mph. The run was hot. The run was a surprising 10:30 pace. Not a bad showing for week 3 of the build cycle.
Next week is a recovery week with only 8 hours of training. What am I going to do with all that extra time?

I went to Prime Outlets today in Williamsburg. Without realizing it, I had been walking around the outlet for over 3 hours! 3 HOURS!!! No breaks or stopping to sit; ok a bathroom break. I didnt feel tired, nor did my feet hurt!!!!
I'm shocked!! Last year this would have been IMPOSSIBLE!!! WOW!!!
You know I'm counting this as exercise!!!

How to Train for a Triathlon : Brick Workout ...
I had to get up at 6AM...To be at work by 7. I'm a security guard at a large medical facility...13 acres of patroling. I walked about 4-5 miles today...In the heat of the day + about 20 flights of stairs!! After work I rode my bike 3 miles...Not much, but it was good to get out.
