Julie -- Way to GO!!  It is so inspiring to hear about other WLSers who have made it through the program successfully... we're a little out of shape and intimidated when we first start this, but I figure even marathoners had to start somewhere, right?  So to hear from folks like you really lets US know that it's totally do-able!

Deneen -- Good for you for joining in and starting up, it's really a great program and for the first time in my life, I think I may actually someday be A Runner!

I finished Week 3 this morning.  Stayed inside and did it on the treatmill this time, for the first time, 'cause it's just SO dang humid outside.  I was surprised to find my right shin wanting to burn and fatigue, 'cause that doesn't happen outside and hasn't happened at all for several months.  No biggie, it didn't stop me... I had it in my head, a minute into the second 3-minute run, that maybe I'd just press my luck and see if I could stretch it into 5 minutes... but yeah, right LOL!!  I still stopped at 3, but after that last 3 minute walk I tacked on another 90-second run just to spite myself.

Still really wondering how next week's gonna go, but anxious to get started on it  Monday!

You are going to do great on week 4, I just know it! ;-) I hope it all goes smothly. The humidity is supposed to drop here, soooo if I can get myself and my 2 year old up and going, I am thinking of venturing out on Tuesday. Wish me luck. Have a great week!

OH!  And I meant to post a link here too.  There's a website called www.coolrunning.com that's (obviously) all about running, lets you search for races in your area, and has some fairly good discussion forums, if anyone's interested in checking it out!

I feel your pain this week! You have an advantage by looking to race late Oct., and you really can go at your pace especially when you are busy. =P Have a great week!

I am such an idiot, instead of doing W3D1, I selected the wrong podcast and played W4D1...OMG it kicked my butt and I couldn't figure out why I couldn't do it....no wonder....oh, well, I almost was able to do it, so I'll stick to week 4 and tough it out.....I may have to repeat next week, seeing I had to take breaks during the 5 minute runs today......

I'm sitting here still dripping (literally, I can feel the sweat falling off my hair and onto my shoulders) and I LOVE it -- after doing W4D2.   I'm tickled with  myself because this time I didn't give myself any extra walk-time between the last two runs like I did Monday, and still made it through, and on much less flat ground.  Yay!  I got out further away from home than anticipated so had a nice long 15-minute walk back and snuck in another 90 second jog just to get the heartrate back up again.  I'm loving this and can't believe I'm actually doing it! :D
