Neck/back muscle atrophy

My husband had RNY on March 31. He is already at goal weight, maybe below, at 187 lbs. His high weight about a year ago was 209 lbs. Since Surgery, he has lost 85 lbs. So, he has lost it FAST. He is having a terrible time with his posture and cranes his neck forward. My guess is this is due to his neck and back muscles having become a bit atrophied.

Any recommendations for strengthening this area to improve posture?

I know a lot of men aren't too keen on it, but some yoga and/or pilates might be a really good idea for him.  There is a lot of emphasis on core strength as well as proper positioning.  Just a thought...
