couch to 5k check in week 2
Day 1 25 minutes (90 seconds walking & jogging)
Day 2 25 minutes (90 seconds walking & jogging)
Day 3 I missed due to being sore and lower back pain
Target Race: still looking for one in late Oct/early Nov
Thoughts:
I had some soreness and lower back pain from something else and it effected me being able to get my Friday C25K done. I'm hoping I can get it done by tomorrow or Sunday since I start my week on Monday.
EDIT~
I don't walk/jog on a treadmill. I do it in my neighborhood. So I really use the time (25 minutes) instead of distance. I haven't figured out a way to do that yet while jogging walking. I had to drive my car the course that I normally jog/walk to find out how far it was. Weds I did go farther then that course, but not sure how much further. If anyone has any suggestions. Love to hear them. hehe I like to walk/jog outside rather then the gym.

I think I am going to try at least one day outdoors in the upcoming week. It will be a nice change of pace. We have a resevoir nearby, maybe that will provide some nice scenery. If you figre out how far you go in 25 minutes, you should be able to compute your speed right? I am not a good one for tech advice. (obviously! lol)
Not managed to fit in more than 1 set of C25k programme this week as I've got other exercise commitments which are already paid for and I've been low on energy to do two lots of exercise a day.
Anyway, the session I did was great - Week 2 - Day 1 - did the whole programme, I found that if I slowed down my jogging I was able to get my breath properly so could complete the programme fully.
Will do week 2 again this week and get in my full 3 sessions as I really enjoy this programme - just have to figure out how to get the energy right to do the full programme on top of everything else I do.
Walking speed 5kph, jogging speed 6.5k ph - if I do the programme on this - it says I am averaging 10k ph.
Definately doing all my exercise indoors - its averaging 110-115F with high humidity here - which thinking about it - is maybe why I'm low in energy - this heat does drain you. We do have a/c but just going out shopping etc can get very draining. Have bought some high strength B12 vits so will see if these help.
Great to hear about everyone else.

Hi all, I apologize for being late in checking in.
I am a school principal and the beginning of the year, open houses, etc. threw me off a day. BUT, I did finish week 1 (did the routine 4x instead of 3) - amazing how much easier it was by the third and fourth time.
Today I started week two. Had a tough time going for 90 seconds, but I will keep trying until I can do it.
Some thoughts in response to other posts -
I use the GymBoss - a $20 interval timer to help me with my intervals. It vibrates when it's time to change. Has a bunch of settings. Easy to use. Great for this -- i can listen to any music, etc. I want and still be notified of my intervals without having to clock watch - which seems to make the time slow to a crawl.
Also, if you go to www.mapmyrun.com you can map the outdoor route you take and determine the distance of your run. No more having to drive it or estimate to find out.
Here's to a successful Week Two for me. I have a 5k run picked out for Nov. 19th. Hoping the extra time will help me build some speed and give me time to practice running outdoors since I do all of mine on a treadmill - with 110 degree temps, it will be 2-3 months before I'm outside running.
Thanks for the updates!

I think you are doing fantastic. Keep at it! Life has a way of derailing us for sure! We had VBS this week and I tought music. This led me to dance 2 hours straight every night. I was so tempted to take the week off. I pressed on though and am so proud of myself for getting through it! I will be praying for you in the coming weeks. I know school starting will make it hard on you. Good Luck and Keep at it!!
