WOW

So one year after my first surgiversary I ran (jogged) my first 5K.  I finished in 34 minutes, which wasn't great, but the fact of the matter is that I did not walk at all.  The next feet is to improve my time.
Unfortunately, I just had outpatient surgery today to clean up the scar and scar tissue left from my feeding tube that was removed in May!  So as Dr. Peters said it feels like he stabbed me in the side AND the nerve blcok stuff is wearing off.  He did have to cut through the muscle, but only under my rib cage so I am able to walk as I can tolerate the pain and then I hope to get back to running!

Here's hoping I am back to running by next Wednesday as I have a 5K registered the 18th and I would love to run it, but may to run walk it as I won't have had my follow up by then.

Just wanted to share!  Thanks for all your support!

Congrats on that previous first 5k, I hope you are healed up in time for the next one, but the idea of walking it is probably a safer bet.  Remember there will be lots of other races to come.  No point in hurting yourself or causing some difficulty that would cause you to be out for even longer.

Good job on the 5k. I will run my first one at the end of this month. My goal is to run it under 40 minutes. I would be thrilled with 34 minutes!
