MONDAY WORKOUTS YA'LL!!!!
Man, this has been a long time coming. I am so gratefule to be able to start training a little! I got the green light from my surgeon last night to start with the eliptical. SOOOOOOO... This morning I got in 20 minutes of good effort on that machine, then I knocked out 54 flights of stairs on the stairmaster in 10 minutes. My surgeon said to keep my workouts to 20-30 minutes TOPS until she sees me next week and gives the 100% blessing to dive back into everything. It is a blessing to be able to excercise again, a blessing I think I took for granted far too often 6 weeks ago before surgery. WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY?
Also... When I was on the eliptical a phrase came screaming through my mind, and it will be my monacre for a while:

Dan, glad to see you back in action and your new monacre sounds great to me!!!!
Today was back, chest, bi's and abs with some cardio mixed in. ran my first mile in 10:33 and then my second one (after back) was in 10:25, then did 10 stairs...found my self jogging up them....wow ( I guess I should say 10 flights of stairs...not just 10 steps....)

Took rest days both Sat & Sun because of hurt knee. It's feeling better today, but my running partner is out of town. So, I plan to get a good 4 mile hike in tonight and will begin the running again tomorrow morning. The bummer with going early in the morning is that it's dark and I'm not very comfortable down at the track by myself.
rest day!
Good to see you back on the daily workout thread, Dan!

Welcome back Dan! Glad to see you start this thread today!
I did my 3.04 mile, 20% grade hill run this morning. Last time to be harsh to the legs (butt mostly) before my Half. I haven't done this route since June 1st and managed to shave off 3:15
Time: 29:46:85
Pace: 9:46
Avg MPH: 6:12 That is breaking the sound barrier for me on this route!
HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE.....

Every morning in Africa , a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning inAfrica , a lion wakes up.
It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.
