Happy Sunday Greetings!!
I am 4 days out from my Lap band surgery and was just wondering when others implemented an exercise regime?
I was not active (other than at work in a busy trauma center) prior to surgery...
Any suggestions would be great!

Started walking in the hospital and increased that until about 6 weeks and amped it up from there.

Other than the regular bits of walking they ask you to do after surgery, it was a good 3 weeks before I committed to an exercise plan. Even then, I didn't have the energy for much. I started out at 3 weeks walking a couple miles each day at the local track and have increased from there. I am able to run 4 miles now. So, don't be in a huge rush -- with the weight loss, you will build up endurance quickly.

like scott said, starting walking in the hospital, walked at least for a 1/2 hour in a row in the days post-op, and then ramped it up as the Dr. allowed.  the good thing is you have to go slow at first, it makes it easier to build good habits without getting frustrated right off the bat.  good luck!
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

I walked for the first 7 months.  Mostly walking the dog 1-3 miles at a time.  I guess I was a slow starter.  I didn't hit the gym until the 7 month mark.
