stretching??

What do you do for warm ups and cool downs? Right now I just use walking before and after jogging but I'm thinking I should do some stretching. Julie

Ideally you might do a quick and easy stretch before exercise and a longer more involved stretch after you workout when all your muscles are warm and ready to stretch. I usually skimp on the after workout stretch and I would feel so much better if I gave it a good 10-15 minutes.

Like you I do a 5 min walk to warm up and cool down, but I then do a good stretch session afterwards - I've only skipped it once, and even if I hurry it I can really really tell the difference.
