ARGH!! ONE WEEK - NO OFFICIAL WORKOUTS!

Okay, so between coming back from a great trip to MT, and dealing with teen-age foster kid drama (work and life), I have yet been able to get to the gym! I typically go every day, and hit the elipitcal/bike/weights for an hour or so. Then toss in my runs.
FOR SEVEN DAYS.....IT HAS JUST BEEN DAILY WALKING (which works to about 3 miles per day...but still...not the same!)

I got a bit *****y (I know...but I did). Told my DH, DD, DS, and FC that I would be home very late! Hitting a 2 hour workout (sauna included) after work tonight.

It is amazing how out of sorts I feel when my routine is broken!!!

I am so afraid that all my training benefits have gone down the toilet after one week of no strong cardio or runs!

Phew..done venting. Hoping I haven't lost my fitness level. Will post my Thursday workout later.

Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.

It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

I hear you girl.  I had some problems at work today.  I'm going to take it out on my bicycle late this afternoon!!

I totally feel you....I am totally crusty if I don't go to the gym or go running for more than two days (and sometimes it's only one..)

Cheers, because you're going to feel like a million bucks tonight!!!

the good news on both accounts are:  a) you will not lose your fitness after a week, it takes much much longer and b) being cranky when you DON'T workout just means that you have really made it a part of your life, and when it's missing, you get cranky (for a variety of reasons), this is actually a good thing, except for the those on the receiving end :)

i'm the exact same way on both accounts even though i know better too.
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

Thanks all,
And Bill...thanks for letting me know that I won't lose fitness after one week. I think that fear is what is adding to my crankiness!
