Proud of myself
Maybe not a big deal for most of you all but it is for me. I ran 2 miles with hills included tonight without stopping (I live on a gravel road in Iowa). Granted I wasn't the speed demon esp during the last big hill but I kept jogging!. The weather was great tonight, not so hot like it has been. Love jogging now esp out here in the country side. Love seeing the crops, smelling fresh hay, seeing wild turkeys and watching lots of deer. I even love to sweat!
Now my new goal is to run 3 miles with the hills included!
I need to start lifting weights. Tried to shoot free throws the other day and every one of them were air balls! Not good. I have zero arm strength. Waiting for the fitness room at work to be completed which should be in the next couple weeks. Once it is done I will post again for advice. Thanks for listening Julie

YES!!! Congrats Julie! I started out very slow, like you are doing, and incorporated hills. I didn't have a choice, as when I leave my driveway, I have to go up one or down one LOL! What I have learned is that by doing those hills, it is helping tremendously with my endurance! Be careful to watch your form up hills as well as down so you don't injure your knees!
There is one particular road I travel that has horse, hay, the works. Sounds silly, but I love the smell of the hay as well...and actually, the horses and their own "smell" are great as well! I also run across deer, even before leaving my driveway. I don't see turkeys, but there are chickens and pea****s...and those on are main paved highway roads LOL!!
You will be at your goal of 3 miles in no time! Make sure to stretch afterwards and gently beforehand...
Congrats again! Keep it up, its addicting!
Hugs,
Kathy

Every morning in Africa , a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning inAfrica , a lion wakes up.
It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

Julie, that's great. I can't jog hardly at all. I'm hoping to build up to a mile in the next few months. Congrats!
