My gym offers a class called BodyPump. I tried it tonight and barely managed to last the full the hour. Basically its low weights ( < 30lbs ) and high reps on 5-6 minute circuits, with a 30s-1m rest between circuits. I think its one of the best workouts I've had outside of doing Kettle Bell circuit training. I hurt like nobody's business (the good hurt though) and struggled to get through. I was happy with my first time performance and will be trying this again as soon as I heal. I highly recommend this class to anybody looking to tone up and build aerobic and muscle endurance.
Great job. I have been interested in trying BodyPump so I am going to give it a try. Seems like it really provides a great workout. Kettle Bell workouts are really good too as you mentioned. I have been doing a lot of chair-a-cise (www.chairacise.com) workouts but am definately going to try the BodyPump. Thanks for the info and continue to hang in there.

I've been doing body pump for about 5 months. LOVE IT!! The release just put out on July 1st is really challenging. If that's the one you did, it's no wonder you're sore. My gym offers the class 2 or 3 times a day (depending on the day) and the class is almost always full. I'd do it every day if I could...but they say to take at least 1 day between sessions to allow muscles to repair.

Yes, BodyPump is great. Bodystep is a great work out too... They are coming out with another one -- BodyAttack. They were doing training/intro sessions for the instructors this week. It beat up on them pretty good too. It's a mix of the others with a focus on agility and sports training. Can't wait to try that one.
