Easy dehydration indicator

After my recent experiences with dehydration, ok for the last 2-1/2 years, Dr. Bob, my sports physician and nutritionist has come up with an easy way to see if I'm dehydrated. By taking my blood pressure. If it's really low, like it was the other day, I'm really dehydrated. So now I check it myself several times a day. I'm still learning the amount of fluid my body needs. Even at 70 ounces my blood pressure was low, so I know I need more than that until I get to a consistant blood pressure.

I judge by my pee color. Any more than a very light yellow and I need to drink more. Volume can also be an indicator. A short 3-4 squirts also indicate that I need more.

After my first marathon (80+ at Disney) it was literally orange and hurt a LOT to go. I was a tad dehydrated that day. After my second Goofy, I most likely passed a kidney stone. That was the worst 15 minutes of my life!!!

I always use the color of my urine as an indicator as well. I go for clear!  I will check my bp too, that is an interesting tid bit. I know that when I have labs done, if my red cells are high, doc says it is due to being a bit "dry" (dehydrated).

Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.

It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.
