My first 5k....

Well, I don't have a big race report, I will just say that I did it and I am just so proud of myself.  I finished in 38:55 and was 108th out of about 200 or so runners.  I am really amazed at myself.  I only stopped to tie my stupid shoes, but other than that I was pretty proud of myself.  I was even passing some girls and guys that were younger than me.  That is pretty darn cool!!!  I almost started to cry when I was crossing the finish line, because I had just enough to pick up my pace and then I saw and heard my family cheering me on...that was just amazing!!!
I have lost almost 80 pounds now and am just amazed at my accomplishments.  I already have my next two races picked out.  I am trying to race in the ones that mean something to me, this one was The Children's Miracle Network and the next one will be The Surfer Helps Autism and the next one will be for the Wounded Marines of the Afghan War.
Thanks for everyone here who has inspired me, I thought of you while making my way through this amazing journey today!!!!

Hi Erin,
CONGRATS on your first 5K. You will always remember your first one. I have my one year anniversary of running this month and logged 18 races during that time. They are addicting.
It is awesome to hear the cheering and entering the shute.
Good luck on your upcoming events, you are doing GREAT!

Nice job Erin!

That first race will always be special to you no matter how many come after it.  It sure is a great feeling of accomplishment, and we're all proud of you, too!

Thank you to everyone I really am just in awe with my new "body"!!!
Sue, I was thinking about that as I was running by some of the people, and when I was really close to the finish line, there was one lady that would run and then walk, she would pass me and then I would pass her, well she was walking when I passed her and said "Come on, we got this, we can finish", I did not know her, she was from Maine or something, but she ran with me, I passed her in the very end, but that felt good!!!!

Congratulations Erin!  It's such an awesome experience to cross that finish line and know how far you've come on your journey.
