what will stop the chafing?

I am training for a half marathon and as I add milage, the minor chafing is becoming anything but minor. Problem areas are the batwings and sharpei thighs. The armband for the IPOD is really causing a problem. Any suggestions?

BODYGLIDE!! You can buy it at Dick's Sporting Goods or Big 5 for about $8. I love it and swear by it. I ran a half marathon today in 02:03:59, and didn't get a single spot of chafing.

It comes in a package like a stick of underarm deodorant, and you put it wherever your skin might rub. I put it on nipples, at my underarm bra-line, feet if I'm doing long runs, and inner thighs if I'm wearing Nike tempo shorts with the built-in panty. Oh, and around my Zune armband, too!

I don't get thigh rubbage if I wear my Under Armour 7" compression shorts--you should try them!

I second what has already been said.
Compression clothes and body glide.

be warned that the compression gear will make you hotter though.  Not only is it another layer, but it doesn't wick as well as a loose technical t-shirt.  So make sure you have fluid available for your workouts.  You will sweat more.

i third the combination of compression gear and glide.... however, i stopped buying body glide and started using plain ole vasaline, it's cheaper and just a bit messier...
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

Compression shorts for the legs and I have a holder for the Ipod that I clip on to my shorts. I ditched the arm band after one run. I also only put the left bud in so that I can hear the traffic comming.
