My first race

So i'm in week 4 of the couch to 5k program working towards the goal of running a 5k.  In the meantime, I ran across a 1 mile run on July 4th that I'm going to do!  All four weeks of my running has been on the treadmill, so now I'm trying to get used to running outdoors.  Big difference!

Wish me luck!

#1 congrats on the weight loss.  #2 - way to go with c25k - I finished it the first of June and have my first official race tomorrow night.  #3 - I like being outside so much better even with the heat.  I like changing scenery and varying courses and fresh air and seeing neighbors see me running (yeah, ok, I'm a little proud of the whole running thing).  I suggest mapmyrun.com to help measure your outdoor runs.

Congrats!  There's a reason we call it the Dreadmill.  Running outside is so much more fun for a lot of us.

Good luck on your race, I'm sure you'll do great, and getting race experience is always fun.  Just do your own thing and smile at the finish line!
